Donna Smith
Donna Smith, MA, LPP, began her academic career later in life. She started at Jefferson Community College and earned an Associate's degree there. Ms. Smith then attended the University of Louisville, graduating with honors, and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Her Master's degree (MA) in Psychology followed, from Spalding University.
While in college, this individual was employed at Edelson & Associates, first as a secretary, then Administrative Assistant to Dr. Richard Edelson, next becoming Practice Manager, and ultimately Chief Operating Officer (COO). In her various positions at Edelson & Associates, Ms. Smith played a major role in shaping the training of graduate students, and developing a unique system for reimbursing clinical staff based on education and experience. Once she had her MA her career as a psychologist began, seeing patients for psychotherapy and performing both neuropsychological and psychological evaluations as a Licensed Psychological Associate. Ms. Smith had a strong desire to be able to practice independent of supervision, and completed the difficult process of becoming a Licensed Psychological Practitioner (LPP), requiring passage of multiple tests at the doctoral level.
After Edelson & Associates was sold in 2019, Ms. Smith became a valuable member of Edelson Forensics (EF), primarily performing neuropsychological evaluations of persons for whom there were concerns about brain and emotional damage. As more staff joined EF, she assumed responsibility for scheduling and financial issues, as well as continuing to consult on questions involving neuropsychological and psychological test data and their interpretation. Evaluations completed at EF will continue to include her input, as well as that of Drs. Adam Brickler and Richard Edelson.
